Grandma Hazel's Geraniums

I've always known my husband's favorite flowers...
we both love gardening, so it was something we talked
about even while dating.  Roses & geraniums top the list.
As it turns out, they were also his great-grandparent's
favorites.  His great-grandfather, Kermit, took pride in
his rose garden, while his great-grandmother,
Hazel, enjoyed her geraniums...

Here are the sources for
"Grandma Hazel's Geraniums"
gift tags & lined stationery:

*Vintage Images*

*The Graphics Fairy*

*Altered Bits*

*Green Paper*

 Thank you!

What are a few of your favorite flowers?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

    1. Thank you Lin ~ I agree, pastels are beautiful, and what I lean towards as well. Felt like I wouldn't be doing the "red" geraniums justice if I masked their color, so for this one, I let them stay their bright, happy selves :)

  2. I enjoyed this! My husband rarely offers opinions in gardening but EVERY year he asks if I'm going to plant 'those big red ones':) (red geraniums)Too funny!

    1. Your gardens are beautiful Janet ~ he just realizes you've got it well under control :) I do love his annual question :) Oh, and I didn't say my favorite flowers... peonies, roses, lilacs, Sweet William, Russian sage, foxglove, delphinium, daylilies.... I could go on (and on) :)

  3. You can't beat roses and geraniums. My husband just planted 24 across the front of our house (we have a porch that runs the full length) so we go from big red tulips to big red graniums. We love roses too, but they're in the back in front of the wide back porch! Thanks so much for these really lovely tags and stationery.

    1. Ah, that sounds beautiful Marda... love pops of color in the garden (and roses are one of my favorite flowers). When I started my garden, I was convinced I'd stick with all pastels, to which my dad (and gardening mentor) said, "Boring!" He was right, of course, so now I have pastels in the Spring, and brighter colors in the Summer...

    1. Lucy, I love hydrangea and glads too :) I've never grown dahlia, but my husband bought me some bulbs for our anniversary, and I think they're coming up (I plant then forget what I planted where!) When I'm at the hospital, I always admire bouquets of dahlia at patient's bedsides... one time a patient had a HUGE yellow "dinner plate" dahlia in a vase, and he said it was from his garden, keeping him company :) They are stunning!

    1. I always enjoyed our gardens growing up, but it wasn't until after I got married that I got seriously interested in gardening. My dad has a green thumb ~ inherited from his mother :) and has given me all sorts of advice along the way. I hope you do have gardens of your own someday... you'll find it doesn't take long in a garden to make your heart content :)

    1. Thank you ~ and hydrangeas are another beautiful flower ~ I agree, the blue ones are gorgeous! I have 2 hydrangea bushes, one is a "Pee Gee" hydrangea which has white flowers that gradually turn deep pink by autumn. They are in my home year-round, dried or fresh, depending on the season!
